Director of Library Service and Information Literacy
Beth Emmerling has dedicated her professional life to "creating life-long learners in creative and engaging ways." In addition to her current position at Capitol, she has been a librarian for the Baltimore Public Library and a Library Media Specialist for the DC public school system. She is also a longtime human rights acvitist, advocating for the under-served population in Baltimore and working to involve community and government leaders in addressing issues of homelessness, economic disparity, and violence prevention. Diversity training, job training including computer courses. Beth earned her master's degree in library and information science (MLIS) from the University of Maryland College Park in 2010. She also holds a master's degree from UMCP in American and Women's history, and received her BA from UMCP in 1999, majoring in independent studies.
